Independent Report
generalThe health club - which is free for all residents - offers a large pool (recently refurbished and tiled), sauna and gymnasium, as well as a varied health and beauty treatment menu. This is a lovely hotel tucked away minutes from the foot of Lake Windermere. (03/2008 GW)
lobbyThe lobby is small and quaint.
exteriorIt's stone and slate construction is a characteristic of the Lake District, although at five storey high its something of a rarity in the region. The Hotel is connected to the Leisure club via a bridge between the two buildings as they are situated on opposite sides of the road.
restaurantThe restaurant offers British and European cuisine with views overlooking the river Leven. The bar also has a good sized terrace, which overlooks the river and is perfect for alfresco drinking in the Summer.
roomsAll of the rooms are medium in size and are en-suite with full facilities. They are all in a good condition, clean and functional. Some rooms have balconies overlooking the river.
locationThe hotel is situated in the small village of Lakeland. Aptly named as its right on top of a natural drop in the River Leven, which runs past the front of the hotel.
