generalThis is a nice tradtional hotel offering good Swedish values and service. It is well located and allows the guest a great base to explore the city and local area which in winter time can offer many fun and exhilarating activities to enjoy, such as dog sledging, snowmobiling, white water rafting and reindeer herding. This hotel is totally non-smoking in all rooms. (12/05 LC)
lobbyThe lobby is small but grandly decorated.
exteriorExtended in recent years the hotel is now two adjoining buildings. The original building is from the turn of the 20th Century, a traditional Swedish country house clad in timber and painted in a picturepost card yellow and white. The building to the rear is a new structure of brick and more featureless but nonetheless in keeping.
restaurantA restuarant is provided where the breakfast buffet is taken.
roomsAll rooms are of a medium size and in good condition. They are designed with a classic country twist of warm colours and lots of fabrics allowing them to provide a cosy and intimate feel. Bathrooms are modern and well appointed.
locationThe hotel is located in the centre of Umea and closeby to the city's river of the same name. Being a compact city everything is within walking distance, making it a pleasant and relaxing place to visit.
