generalA delightful ryokan where guests can feel the traditional style still in the heart of Tokyo. There are two communal baths for guests (same sex only) , one made of Japanese cypress and the other made of black granite. (08/08 YT)
lobbyWalking into the hotel is like stepping back in time to Edo Era. The lobby is small in size and all decorated with wonderful Japanese antiques from the Edo period. There are some traditional Japanese seating areas.
exteriorThe ryokan is a beautifully decorated and maintained as a modern ryokan that looks like a small hotel but has traditional Japanese atmosphere, created from the decorated Japanese lanterns, latticed sliding doors, tiled roofing and garden lanterns.
restaurantThere is no proper restaurant in the ryokan. Meals are served in the banquet rooms if included in plan.
roomsAll rooms are traditional Japanese style with tatami mats, papered shoji sliding windows, and sliding fusuma doors. The rooms are decorated with antiques and woodblock paintings. By day, the room has ample seating and by night is transformed into a sleeping area with Japanese futons laid out for guests. Each guest room has its own private toilet and bath.
locationThe ryokan is located in the heart of Asakusa, one of the oldest and most charming areas of Tokyo. It is also in short minutes walk distance from the best sightseeing spots such as Sensoji (the Asakusa Kannon Temple) and Nakamise shopping arcade. From Narita International Airport, it is 1 hour ride on Keisei Line to JR Ueno station. It is 5-minute by taxi from JR Ueno train station to the hotel. Otherwise, to the hotel, it takes 2 minutes by walk from Asakusa Station on Tsukuba Express.
