locationApproximately 9km from the town of Taupo and the lake of the same name the Wairakei Resort is located within the Wairakei thermal park. This is on State highway 1.
roomsThe rooms are well equipped and nicely furnished. Plenty of space. Rooms have all the usual facilities such as mini-bar, tea/coffee facilities, air conditioning, direct dial telephones, iron and ironing board. All rooms are now non-smoking, hotel will charge guests cleaning fee if they smoke inside room.
restaurantThere are two restaurants the formal and fine dining Pavilion restaurant and the more casual and relaxed atmosphere of Fairway, which also has an outdoor dining area. Additionally there are three bars. The room service is available 24 hours a day.
exteriorA modern low rise hotel in expansive grounds, 165 acres of park like grounds and more intimate gardens. Extensive use of glass to maximise the feel of open spaces and the views around the property.
