locationThe hotel is located in the centre of Siem Reap, overlooking the Summer Palace used by the Cambodian Royal Family. Approximately 15 minutes drive to Siem Reap International Airport. It is only 8 kms away from the gateway of the magnificent temples of Angkor and provided exclusive lodgings and dining facilities for travellers who sought to experience one of the wonders of the world.
roomsThe hotel has 131 guestrooms and suites. The standard room is called State room (32 sq2) and deluxe room is called Landmark room (38sq2) with private balcony or verandah. Both room types provide pool or landscaped garden. There are also a Cabana room with direct access to the pool. An impressive walkway to each hotel room is stunning with the contrast tone of yellow marble and black trim along with pictures telling Khmer traditional town in the old era. Each tastefully appointed with art decor-country style furnished and Cambodian objet d'art, reflecting the period architectural theme. The main building, carefully restored and refurbished to original architectural style, is complemented by new wings of the same architectual inspiration. Standard rooms are medium sized, high ceiling and are furnished in an Art Decor style, tastefully and uncluttered, recapturing the elegance of that bygone era they wish to reflect. Conveniences enjoyed by the modern traveller eg aircon, IDD telephone, satellite TV, minibar and safe are all present. for each room with two separate queen size bed, an extra bed is absolutely not available in any room type.
generalFacilities: 35 metre lap pool and family fun pool, with poolside pavilion. Exercise par course with ten stations which follows a trail within the compound. Two tennis courts. Fully equipped spa, unsurprisingly the premier one in the country. Library and map room, which also house the business centre. A Sugar Palm Club, children play room. Shops such as Treasure Chest Thai Silk, Lotus room for antique souvenir and beauty salon. A reserved traditional style elevator gives full fun and pleasant atmosphere yet convenience to valuable guests. lobbyIt is spacious enough for group check-in, with a cafe/piano bar (the Conservatory) providing extra seating to the elegant, unfussy decoration, country manor meeting Southeast Asia. Hotel entrance is small yet elegant.
exteriorIt is gracious four storey building, a renovation of the original opened in 1931. Reminiscent of a colonial administrative building. There is a 60,000 square metre garden which fronts the hotel filling. The four gardens within over 20,000 trees and shrubs, some dating back to the time of the original opening. It is existing historic hotel building was carefully and sensitively restored while additional new structures architecturally complement it.
restaurantAll dining outlets follow through on the theme of simple elegance found throughout the hotel. Breakfast is taken in the informal Cafe d' Angkor, also open for casual lunch and dinner. For upscale dining, Restaurant Le Grand opens for dinner only and serves both Khmer and Continental cuisine, including a trendy 'fusion' of both. There are three bars (the Elephant bar at hotel basement, the Celebrity and the Travellers) and you will receive a warm welcome in any of them. The Performance House can handle 250 pax and puts on a buffet on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday.
