The hotel is located near Columbus Circle and is withing walking distance of Lincoln Center, Central Park and the Theatre District.

The small rooms (150sq.ft) are exquisitely fitted out to recall a luxury liner stateroom or first class wagon, with makore panelling and flooring, and crisp white draperies, linens and upholstery fabric on customised furniture.
restaurant
The hotel's restaurant features an open kitchen with both counter seating and a stained glass frieze, reminiscent of a university dining hall. The floor, tables and benches are made of dark wood. The hotel's brightly-lit main bar has an illuminated glass floor vaguely reminiscent of the disco days. The ceiling is a computer-generated Franceso Clemente image.

The surreal design of the medium-sized lobby is a unique mix of avant-garde. It is filled with brick masonry, dark wood, a 45ft carved oak desk with a huge hologram lit classical chandelier and a tangle of vines fronting a 30-ft high vine-fronted glass roof. Nearby, French doors lead to a wonderful terrace beckoning with plants, oversized furniture, tongue-in-cheek sculpture and a bar (in season). The hotel's decor is captivating with its colour-infused escalator.

With its range of public places, its outdoor components and its attraction to New Yorkers, the hotel harks back to the historical concept of the grand hotel in the centre of a European town. It is a centre of social activity pulsating with city life. No pets allowed in the hotel.
