generalThe hotel also has a leisure centre including a swimming pool, whirlpool spa bath, sauna, impulse shower, steam room, solarium, gym and coffee bar. This is a very modern hotel and is ideal for any client visiting the North East’s many attractions. Although located outside of Newcastle’s city, it provides excellent transport links to the A1M and Metro shopping centre. (KB 01/07)
lobbyThe hotel lobby is medium in size with a reception desk, sofas and plenty of space for luggage. The decor is modern with a marbled floor.
exteriorThis is a large, modern hotel with a huge car park in front of it.
restaurantThe hotel restaurant offers both a la carte and table d’hote menus and is very modern in design, with decorative walls and modern lighting. The cocktail bar is next to the restaurant.
roomsAll rooms have private facilities and colour television with SKY+, radio, direct dial telephone, hairdryer and tea/coffeemaking facilities. The rooms are fairly medium-sized and decorated in pale shades of red and blue, with modern printed fabrics. Most are in fair condition although a little dated.
locationThis hotel is located one mile from Newcastle city centre and is six miles from the airport. The Gateshead Metro centre is nearby and is the largest shopping centre in Europe. Tees Valley Airport is also close at around a 50 minute drive away. Newcastle is a good location from which to explore Northumberland and travel up into Scotland.
