lobbyThe lobby is medium in size. It is traditionally decorated with dark furniture and antiques. Original ornate plaster work can be found all around the hotel, specially in the public areas. A comfortable seating area with working fire places is available for guests to relax or enjoy traditional English tea.
exteriorIt's a very imposing building. The original house was burned down at the end of the seventeenth century and rebuilt at the reigning of the eighteenth century. The result of the reconstruction is the actual building. It's a very beautiful red brick and white stucco building with a small entranced flanked by white columns.
restaurantThe Cheneston's Restaurant and Oratory offers excellent modern British and international cuisine in a relaxed setting. It has recently been upgraded and must be booked in advance as it has become a very busy venue amongst Kensington residents.
Another popular spot in the hotel is the 'Stable' bar. This is a cigar bar decorated with horse racing paintings and horse racing silks. It's set where the stables of the original house used to be and has a distinctive 'gentlemen club' feeling.
roomsEach of the fully air-conditioned rooms are individually designed with delightful, hand selected antiques and fabrics. The style is quintessential English and very traditional. Bathrooms are also in very good condition.
