generalThis is one of the most delightful hotels in the Nordic region. It really is very difficult indeed to fault this truly deluxe property, steeped as it is in tradition yet enjoying all the benefits of any brand new business hotel. All this in arguably the best location in town. A jewel!
lobbyThe hotel has an impressive entrance, opening up into the deluxe interior of the lobby, which offers a lovely relaxed and informal atmosphere.
exteriorAfter faithful restoration, this hotel is the first truly deluxe hotel in the Nordic countries. It is regarded as one of the most valued historical buildings in Helsinki.
restaurantThe most legendary restaurant in Finland, Kamp, was opened in 1887, and is now a fabulous restaurant offering outstanding international cuisine and wines. The brasserie is a trendy open kitchen with a buffet and specialities and is located just to the right of the lobby as one enters. The hotel also has a bar serving drinks and light snacks, and a patio open during the spring and summer months.
roomsThe rooms are all very large (approximetely 38 square metres) and in exceptional condition with modern amenities. The colour scheme is pastel yellow with pine fittings, and traditional gold patterned curtains with lavish period touches in keeping with the grandest of hotels. The bathrooms have a separate shower and bathtub, all in marble and of exceptional quality. The upgraded executive rooms are larger than standard and truly sumptuous and luxurious.
locationThe hotel is located opposite the Esplanade Park, in the finest shopping area and pedestrian zone in the heart of Helsinki. The port and main market is just a 5 minute walk, as is the central railway station.
