generalThis boutique lodge is set close to the fantastic temperate rainforest and the world famous Franz Josef Glacier. Only 10 rooms the property has a cosy and intimate feel. The communal lounge has a large open fire surrounded by comfy lounge seating. There is also a small house bar in the same room. Highly recommended for independent travellers looking for a high standard property. Due to its location clients are recommended to have their own transport. SE0508
lobbyA small functional lobby just inside the main lodge building. Leading off from the check in area is the main lounge.
exteriorA single storey building predominantly of wood. Set within fantastic countryside views to the mountains are uninterrupted.
restaurantThere is no restaurant on site. Breakfast is served in the main lodge communal lounge and relaxation area.
roomsThe rooms are very nicely decorated and are about 35 square metres. The bathrooms have under floor heating and two of the suites have a large separate French bath. The remaining suites all have a large walk in shower. Rooms can be super king or twin single beds. All rooms are on ground floor level and there is a wheel chair accessible suite. Rooms have polished wood walls and there is a lounge sofa area in each room. There is direct access to covered patio seating.
locationIn the countryside just outside the main township of Franz Josef. A five minute drive to the town centre. Franz Josef is five and a half hours drive from Christchurch or Queenstown.
