Independent Report
locationLocated in the Cowgate, an extension of the popular bar and restaurant centre of Grassmarket in the heart of old Edinburgh, this friendly hotel is a must, just a few minutes walk from the Royal Mile.
generalThe hotel is part of a complex featuring the Three Sisters Pub. The pub is very popular and is open until 1am every night of the week. On weekends the hotel is very often used by stag and hen parties. It is not recommended for those looking for a quiet and peaceful stay, but it is ideal for those looking for a lively and vibrant venue.

lobbyThe hotel entrance is through the cobbled courtyard, which in summer months is an outdoor bar area.
exteriorBuilt in 1621 for the Guild of Taylors, the building was completely renovated and transformed into a hotel in 1998. It is a stunning traditional property.
restaurantMajor sporting events are shown on a large screen in the cobbled courtyard of the hotel (weather permitting). The Three Sisters Pub serves food daily, and an upstairs room serves guests a traditional Scottish breakfast. The bar is open from 9am until 1am, but later during the Edinburgh Festival and key event dates.
roomsThe rooms are modern in decor, with light wood furnishings. They are of a good standard, and all are equipped with tea/coffee-making facilities, mini-safe, hair dryer and trouser press as standard. All are equipped with facilities of a three-star standard, including pay-per-view movies and direct-dial telephone. Although rooms are double glazed, some can be affected by noise from the pub.
