Independent Report
generalA superb setting for anybody looking for a castle hotel, with an historical feel, that has state of the art facilities. Situated in quiet surroundings and yet only 10 minutes drive from the city centre.
(NN11/08)
lobbyThe lobby is the great hall of the old castle and has hanging tapestries and a huge fireplace. The reception area is large and furnished in dark wood.
exteriorThe castle dates back to 1172, and the facade is very imposing and impressive.
restaurantThe Knight's bar offers food and drink in a unique tudor setting. The stunning new Fusion bar is chic and one of the finest establishments in Dublin. The Drawbridge is a more rustic, less formal pub, serving a buffet lunch and pub food throughout the day. Templar's Bistro is the more formal A La Carte restaurant.
roomsThe rooms are all medium in size and furnished to a very high standard. They are modern, but in keeping with the hotel's medieval theme, and have heavy curtains and dark wood. All have U.S spec electrical sockets.
locationThe hotel is situated in Clontarf, a leafy coastal suburb of Dublin, two miles from the city centre and three miles from the airport.
