locationThe hotel lies in some of the most beautiful countryside in England. To the north are the Cotswolds and Bath with its Roman baths. To the south are Wells Cathedral with its moated Bishop's Palace, Glastonbury with its ruined Abbey and Stourhead, one of the finest landscaped gardens in the world. By road the hotel is located on the A37, 11 miles south of Bristol and Bath, and 120 miles from London
roomsMany have genuine four poster beds, others coronet beds. All have antique furniture, fine paintings and enticing views of either the formal or informal side of the landscaped gardens and the parkland beyond. All the bedrooms are individually designed to a very high standard as are all the bathrooms. Also, all rooms have Broadband Internet access.
generalThere is a tennis court within the grounds, and guests can borrow the hotel?s croquet set for a gentle game on the front lawn. The billiard room situated ?below stairs? is also available to guests. There are no spa or leisure facilities here but guests can avail of the wonderful facilities of the sister hotel, The Royal Cresent in central Bath.(10/06it)
