Independent Report
generalThis is a perfect base for those travelling on a budget. It is slightly different to most hotels in Amsterdam as it has some nice grounds and extra facilities and yet is just minutes from the city centre.
250908JG
lobbyThe lobby is large and bare with its main feature being the recently restored impressive iron staircase.
exteriorThe hotel has a unique exterior due to the fact that it is an historic building. It was originally built in the 1890s for use as a Roman Catholic orphanage. It is traditional in style and is reached by a small forecourt.
restaurantThe restaurant has recently been renovated in the style of a French brasserie and now features attractive wooden floorboards. It serves international cuisine and overlooks the forecourt of the hotel. In the summer, there is a terrace where one can have a drink outside.
roomsThe bedrooms are large in size and quite minimalist and each is unique due to the nature of the building but they all have redeeming features be them split level, with beams etc. They are in good condition, as are the bathrooms and are decorated in various styles with the majoirty being light and bright and slightly alternative with a modern touch. For those booking a room inclusive parking, this is applicable for one car per room for duration of stay only
locationLocated close to Amsterdam's famous zoo, this hotel is approx. 20 minutes walk or only a short tram ride away from Central Station and close to all the main attractions of this city.
