Independent Report
locationThe Arena has a great central location close to Amsterdams Artis Zoo, and a couple of tram stops away from the Leidseplein with its nightlife, and Museumplein, home to the Rijks and Van Gogh and Stedelijk museums, which are also within walking distance for those who like to walk. It is also not far from the antiques quarter of Amsterdam
roomsThe bedrooms are large in size and quite minimalist and each is unique due to the nature of the building but they all have redeeming features be them split level, with beams etc. They are in good condition, as are the bathrooms and are decorated in various styles with the majoirty being light and bright and slightly alternative with a modern touch. For those booking a room inclusive parking, this is applicable for one car per room for duration of stay only
restaurantThe restaurant has recently been renovated in the style of a French brasserie and now features attractive wooden floorboards. It serves international cuisine and overlooks the forecourt of the hotel. In the summer, there is a terrace where one can have a drink outside.
exteriorThe hotel has a unique exterior due to the fact that it is an historic building. It was originally built in the 1890s for use as a Roman Catholic orphanage. It is traditional in style and is reached by a small forecourt.
lobbyThe lobby is large and bare with its main feature being the recently restored impressive iron staircase.
generalThis is a lovely and unique 4 star hotel in Amsterdam, set back from the road with a lovely summer terrace, it also has a garden on site and numerous facilities including a restaurant and bar and on the weekends, a poular club
